To do so, go to System Preferences > Users & Groups and click your name on the left under Current User.
You can remove login items one at a time and start up your Mac after each removal to see if the problem is gone.
With a bit of trial and error, you can identify which app is the problem child. If you find yourself staring at a blue screen when you start up your Mac, it might mean that one of your startup items - apps that start automatically when you start up your Mac - is incompatible with MacOS. To leave Safe Mode and start up your Mac per usual, just restart your Mac without holding any keys. It may take a few minutes before you get to the login screen as MacOS runs its diagnostics on your hard disk. You can release the Shift key when the Apple logo disappears and the login screen appears. The Apple logo will appear and then the login screen. To start up in safe mode, start your Mac and then press and hold the Shift key.
In Safe Mode, MacOS will boot with the bare minimum of software and drivers required and will run a check of your startup disk and repair any directory issues that might be the cause of your startup ills. That’s how we add our internet accounts from Google, Yahoo, and other providers to the Mac.If your Mac fails to boot properly and you find yourself staring at a blank screen or gray startup screen instead of your desktop, then it's time to try booting in Safe Mode. From there, you can go and change the nickname. Then, all I do is click on the “minus.” If you’re going to change the nickname, the nickname being the name that shows up here, in this case, this one’s BNoteboom for Beth Noteboom, let’s say I wanted to call that Beth Noteboom. Let’s say I wanted to delete my Yahoo account. If you have a custom server, then what you’ll have to do is you’ll have to go to “Add Other Account” and type in some more information. What you’ll do is you’ll enter in the username and password. All you have to do is click on any one of these and then follow the instructions. If you look here, you can see I have two Gmail accounts. When I click on the “plus,” you’re going to see all of the different types of accounts we can create, and you can use them more than once. To create a new account, what we do is click on the “plus” here. This is the user account I create my tutorials on, so I don’t want to have all of these other accounts in there. I only want to have my iCloud account active on this user account. If I were to click on notes and select that, I’d be able to sync my notes with the Notes app. I only made my mail active, but what I’m going to be able to do now is get mail in the Mail app on my Mac. When I click on mail here, we can see it just made it active. I click on it, and then all I have to do is click on the service I want to use. If I wanted to make one of these other accounts active, let’s say I wanted to have my active. The only active account is my iCloud account.
The only account, internet account, that is active in this user account, my macOS Mojave, remember we have different users. This means that it is not active in this user account. Now, you’ll notice that my internet accounts here are gray, and it says “inactive” underneath it. You don’t have to use all of the different options. Depending on which account, internet account you have, you’re going to see different options here. With this service, what I can do is, I can also sync my reminders. If I go over to Yahoo, you’re going to see that we have other services. If I were to make this active, what would happen is I’d be able to sync all of my mail, contacts, calendars, and notes with all of my other computers using Gmail. All I can do is use Gmail for mail, contacts, calendars, and notes. When I click on this, you’re going to see I do not have as many options.
When I go over to Gmail here, I also have an internet account for Gmail. I scroll up, and we can see all of the iCloud services. When I click on iCloud, I can see all of the services and, then, from there, I can go and de-select anyone I do not want to use. As an example, when I click on iCloud, remember we have several services with iCloud. When I click on any one of these internet accounts, what I’ll be able to do is see all of the services that are compatible with that account. I click on it, and we have all of my internet accounts. This could be a Gmail account, a Yahoo account, or even our iCloud account. This is where we set up our Mac to use our various accounts.
Now, what we need to do is we need to go to Internet Accounts. The first thing we need to do to set up our internet accounts is to open up our System Preferences. We do this through the internet accounts preference pane. Introduction: In this video, we’re going to take a look at how we can set up our different internet accounts from Google, Yahoo, and other providers to use with the Mac.
